It will probably move a lot faster as they continue to open up APIs and federation. I def prefer the nostr model from the start, but don’t want to write anything off. Good ideas everywhere and the goals are similar. However, I don’t appreciate or think it wise to go squarely after Twitter. That won’t end well, and is extremely myopic.

Completely agree. Not writing anything off, but it’s hard for most people to see the potential of their protocol when all they’re showcasing is a less-functional twitter clone.

Twitter products are more suitable for "breaking news" to spread faster and obtain information more conveniently. Users post news on the spot where the news happens.
