Open in Damus

The middle was open like a pantry and had an opening for entry. The shelves were 2’ deep so that they could hold a lot and you could access them from inside and out.

Ah, I see. You could spook someone by hiding on the inside, and showing you face behind an item that was just taken from the outside.

it reminds of a cylindrical fridge that I saw in a video once. It was built into the counter and opened from the top. You push a button and then a shelf like this comes up above the height of the counter. You can turn it around, so all items are easily accessible.
