The current state of the bitcoin network is not a state of emergency. People saying otherwise are clearly lying. The practical difference in data volumes between now and in a possible 110 future are minimal. The potential for much more damaging spam of the utxo set is much higher in a post 110 future. This is undeniable. If you come to the table screaming about a pedophile emergency and everything you are saying is false you will be rejected and you become suspect. This is what has happened. Especially when this come after a protracted period of being in denial about the effectiveness of mempool filters.

I would rather deal with a bit of extra weight of the chain than face a potential scenario where a normal pleb node cannot stay in sync because the utxo bloat happened too quickly.

I don’t care about spam , I don’t engage with it, and I think it will ultimately be priced out, but the reality is the number of people using the main chain is insufficient to do that currently. I think most uses of bitcoin outside of strict monetary ones will eventually be priced out as well and I don’t see any need to accelerate that process because you fear a future of Bitcoin becoming ethereum. It won’t happen because there ultimately is not enough economic value to waste L1 resources on that stupid shit.
