I hate to throw such a brief judgment at a well thought out piece like that but ultimately it just felt like a huge cope from a disgruntled engineer watching his economic value plummeting in real time...
I agree, it comes off Luddite, but rough indeed. And the luddites weren’t wrong. It took generations to recover from the Industrial Revolution. There was just nothing that could be done to stop it. The humanity in the coding process is lost for sure with LLMs, as is value in the intellectual labor. Maybe we will be lucky and gain enough to compensate for the loss.
