Autocracy does not begin with handcuffs.

It begins the moment someone else holds the keys — to your speech, your money, your identity.

I spent 7 years in a cell understanding this. The locks were physical. But the model is the same everywhere autocracy takes root.

The question is not whether they can silence you today. It is whether the architecture you rely on gives them that power at all.
