its funny because for ai it is effortless to write the function it needs on the spot, its more energy to do an agentic grep for code that might already do the thing it needs.

Many of my interjections are like “don’t we already have code for this?”. That has been a helpful symbiotic programming practice. Otherwise you can just ask it to do the compression step afterwards
