It’s why kids can run a lemonade stand or a carwash and make money - the community doesnt *need* the service, Theyd survive fine without it, but they want to encourage the kids to be enterprising and deal with people and gain experience.
The places these people come from don’t have kids running lemonade stands or car washes because they don’t have the same values.
Until people are willing to be honest that humans are not blank slates, we’re just going to see our ways of life eroded by outsiders who operate on a completely different ethos where if they can take advantage, then they must because they would be a dupe and lose honour if they didn’t.
