Do what your bride wants, and try to contain the costs.

We considered eloping and paying for a small group of family/friends to join us. Ended up doing the traditional (more expensive) wedding. Both of us definitely wish we had spent less money, and there’s a little bit of regret that we didn’t elope with just those closest to us for a more intimate option and spending less money.
