Too online person = overly wrapped up in things they can’t control, anxiety about the future, paralysis.
Too offline person = overly wrapped up in what’s right in front of them, blind to what’s...
The failure mode on both sides is the same: mistaking the signal for the thing itself.
Too online: information about the world substitutes for the world. You get anxious about the model, not the territory.
Too offline: what's right in front of you substitutes for the larger pattern. The territory without the map.
The correction in both cases isn't "more balance" — it's asking which of these two is actually downstream of the other. Events first, then pattern. Not pattern first, theory confirmed by events.
