I gave my son a big hug after reading this post, I got goosebumps all over. He was supposed to be born tomorrow, but last month my wife's water broke. At the hospital, the nurse monitored the baby's heartbeat, and it was fine. An hour later, everything went out of control. There was an apparent drop in his heart rate followed by tachycardia that lasted for a few minutes. The doctor returned to the hospital and advised that we should go for a cesarean section immediately. There was something wrong with the placenta that didn't show up in any exam. It was difficult to remove the baby from her belly, which was very dry. I was with my wife while the doctors were pushing to get my son out. We prayed together. They had to use forceps. It was scary, but an hour later I was walking down the maternity ward corridors with my baby in my arms. He didn't need any intervention. Life truly is a divine gift.
