@nprofile1q... Before I read the article, computation is a description of something that is happening. If you reect the notion that the computation on its own has meaning, remember that the computation describes *something real* underneath. Symbols don't exist in the air, but on a substrate that they actually influence.
When people say that the universe cmoputes, they don't mean that it manipulates symbols, but that transformation of matter are describable by computation.
