We’re paying €8.33 ($9.48) per gallon for diesel in Rep of Ireland…
Approx 70% of the €2.20 per Litre we pay is gov taxes!…
In March there was a fuel price blockade by hauliers/farmers…
state tv/radio demonised the “protestors” every half hour for 2weeks but public support was strong…
Meetings were called but reps from the “protest” organisers were barred…
The head of Gov ie Michael Martin demonised the “protestors” once again but the price of diesel at the pumps was reduced temporarily to €1.20 per litre via lowering excise taxes at the stroke of a pen.
My praise always to the truckers/farmers who parked up every kind of large machine until the excise duty was lowered to their demands 💪🚜🚛
