I guess it's safe to say that I'm no longer a Northlane fan, as much as I hate to say that. I was never a fan of their pivot toward the EDM-industrial-metalcore hybrid sound but at least Alien and Obsidian had moments that still felt like the Northlane I knew.

This, on the other hand, is just not what I became a fan for. The first single from this album, "Evian", was an early red flag and now the writing is on the wall. Extremely sad to see, especially since almost no modern metalcore bands are doing that ambient, ethereal, progressive metalcore sound that these guys used to have... well, except for Invent, Animate.
Bring back the mid-2010s progressive metalcore vibes!
