An insight into my research and writing process and how much work can go into a couple pages or a chapter:

I'm going to be reading probably thousands of pages in order to do my thorough due diligence on one person so that I can write one chapter about him.

I've dropped thousands of dollars to get ahold of out of print books that contain the things I need in order to make my case.

I've spent the last several days reading and re-reading the same 451 dictionary entries in my copy of E. A. Wallis Budge's Egyptian Hieroglyphic Dictionary. By the time all is said and done, I will have gone through this list over 30 times. This work will yield me maybe a couple pages worth of book content. It's tedious but the handful of times I've done this in various key sections of this dictionary my efforts have yielded all i expected from them and much more. I can deal with tedious as long as the tedium is rewarding.
