Healthcare cannot be a fundamental right like free speech because it requires other people to do something for you. To treat you, pay for you, etc. That's always got to be voluntary.

Whether people *ought* to care about those who couldn't or more commonly didn't care for themselves is IMO a legitimate philosophical discussion to be hate. But a "right"? Doesn't work.

Also, obviously people will get sick and die no matter what the state does. I know rich people who spent millions on care only to die in misery after untold surgeries, treatments, etc. The idea that we should dedicate vast resources to ameliorate something that can only really be prevented by the person themselves seems crazy the way it's playing out.
