🇬🇧 UK MPs Call for Stronger Action on Crypto Sanctions Evasion:
🎤 During a House of Commons debate on human rights abuses and Magnitsky sanctions, Labour MP Tan Dhesi , Chair of the Defence Select Committee, warned that sanctioned individuals are increasingly using cryptocurrencies to evade UK authorities. He urged greater international coordination and the use of advanced technology to tackle crypto-enabled sanctions breaches.
🎤 Responding for the government, Foreign Office minister Stephen Doughty said the National Crime Agency has helped seize $24 million and more than €2.6 million from Russian-linked money laundering networks, alongside over £25 million in cash and crypto and more than 128 arrests.
