I’m not convinced that consciousness stands apart from biology in the way you suggest. If consciousness itself emerges from biological processes, then the “monument” may simply be a more complex extension of the blueprint.
Even the entropy metaphor might cut both ways: living systems don’t defy entropy so much as participate in it through energy exchange. From that perspective, parental love isn’t a rebellion against decay, it’s one of evolution’s most efficient strategies within it.
That doesn’t make the experience any less meaningful. It just means the meaning may be fully natural rather than metaphysically sovereign.
