Do we still recognize the tenth amendment?
... I thought the Federal Government gave it up a long time ago.
The 17th amendment pretty much destroyed state sovereignty. With senators being elected by a statewide popular vote, state government has no say in anything for the most part. Both houses now are elected to go to DC and look out for DC 1st, and then act like they are doing something by getting more federal dollars to come back to the state they represent. Originally congress was the representative of the people of the state, and senators were the representatives of the state itself. States no longer have a voice in the process
