Good morning Nostr ☀️⚡️🔥🤙

Coming in hot today a bunch of questions for this brilliant community. Coffee has hit ⚡️☕️⚡️

1) does anyone have a #Trezor discount code? Like the way people with podcasts always offer referral codes for HWWs and services?

2) could someone explain how Trezors work without a secure element chip (and why it’s “okay”)?

3) is there a Bitcoin-only trezor? Thought so, but not seeing one…

4) has Trezor removed coinjoins or set any limitations recently, due to the Samourai shutdown and Wasabi leaving USA?

5) is the touchscreen version (Model T) really worth an extra $100, if the ColdCard MK4 is actually cheaper?

PS: I don’t have any Bitcoin.

You really don't own any ₿TC?

1) no 2) It's not ok. If an attacker gets your Trezor, your private keys are much more vulnerable. 3) not sure 4) not sure 5) I wouldn't waste money on a Trezor. ColdCard or Passport are the only way to go.

I'd suggest CC over trezor. the model T does have more functionality over the original model. both can be pwned easily if the attacker has physical access to the device. both have btc only firmware you can run, but that doesn't change the fact that the company spends a lot of their time working on...

Just got a Coldcard Q. Can’t recommend highly enough.

2) Their new model ("Trezor Safe 3") does have a secure element chip. Not having one is okay if you don't expect anyone to get physical access to your Trezor, otherwise it isn't. Hence the new model. 4) Yes, theirs will shut down on June 1. See this: https://twitter.com/Trezor/status/178612620792425...

GM nostr:npub14qz92uedt0a8jte8jqg63jr3s5cc99cej36jh883z6tprlu354uqqe2q26 🌞☕️ why do you prefer trezor devices? There are so many HWW and signing devices e.g. SeedSigner, BitBox, Jade, Passport, ColdCard … https://bitcoiner.guide/wallet/hardware/ none of these devices is bad, but each has...

Honestly I wouldn’t weigh the price between HWWs at all. I got a Coldcard Q after using Ledger, Trezor, etc. It is the best option in my opinion. Plenty of optional features supported and online documentation explains everything perfectly. After getting a Coldcard Q I’ve learned a lot of thin...

3. The Trezor Safe 3 device comes with no firmware preinstalled. So the first time you set it up there is an option to download the Bitcoin-only firmware or the universal firmware that supports more coins. So it’s the same device with the same secure element but we have the option to use Bitcoin-o...
