I suspect Minnesota - like my state of Illinois - has quite a stark division between the couple of urban counties and all the rest.
We don’t really have blue states (outside MA / DE ?), rather blue...
So what you are saying is that the majority of citizens in Minnesota and Illinois vote blue. Remember land doesn’t vote citizens do.
