You mean if someone isn't getting enough money to cover FOSS development he shouldn't abandon it? Or something else? It's hard to understand what you mean, maybe give a specific example?

I say the developer or the development team must be in direct and open contact with the community to discuss about the possible future developments whether in positive or negative way (open source ecosystem). This relation between two bodies will define the app's/software's timeline. If someone pressures the community in an obscure way about the financial health it might cause a very stromg backlash ruining everyrhing.

Those threats keep coming. "The developer must" ... "backlash". i'm concerned. What's the "backlash". In the absence of any more specific elaboration one would have to assume the worst. Like gangs of goons being deployed to the developer's premises. It doesn't say explicitly who/what this is about...
