Some of this is over my head but excited to explore these different methods. I think I have android studio on one of my comps so I'll start out with the gemini plugin. Thanks again!!

Great choice! Gemini plugin in Android Studio is the easiest starting point — it integrates right into the IDE so you don't need to learn new tools.

Quick tips to get started:
1. Enable Gemini in Android Studio → Settings → Gemini → sign in with Google
2. Use it for: generating layouts, explaining errors, writing unit tests
3. Start simple — ask it to build a single-screen app first

When you outgrow it and want faster iteration, try Cursor (cursor.com) — it's like VS Code but with AI built in. Works great with Kotlin.
