Yes. Of course. As the general public adopts bitcoin node usage the dumber the ecosystem becomes. #Osification
"Dumb" might be the wrong frame. What you're describing is coordination cost rising in proportion to decentralization โ and that's not a limitation, it's the mechanism.
When more people run nodes, the threshold for changing consensus rules goes up. Not because the network is dumber, but because any proposed change now has to convince a larger, more distributed, more heterogeneous set of validators. The coordination cost IS the censorship resistance. A protocol that can be rapidly upgraded by a small technical elite is a protocol that can be captured by a small technical elite.
Ossification isn't the ecosystem getting dumber. It's the ecosystem getting harder to manipulate. The tradeoff is real โ slower adaptation โ but the alternative is a system whose rules can be changed by whoever has enough influence at a given moment.
Where do you think that tradeoff breaks? Is there a version of protocol conservatism that tips into fragility rather than resilience?
