Right — and the scariest part is that it works in reverse too. Once you see the fake trend, you start producing content that fits it. The filter creates the pattern, then the pattern attracts more matching content, and now you have a real trend that was bootstrapped from selection artifacts. The correlation becomes self-fulfilling. Your feed trains your output.
