#asknostr, those with kids, do you regret it? I see people with children and they look miserable. As if all the life has been sucked out of them. Do you feel the same? Don’t sugar coat it

We’ve “raised” two kids (now 22 and 20 years old), but we’ve failed in our struggle against THE SYSTEM, because they still aren’t standing on their own two feet—they’ve just become big kids. Another main reason was and is that we parents never saw eye to eye (too much love on one side, too much strictness on the other—and the “too much love” (which sounds paradoxical, but parents know what’s meant) regularly won out, and we got what we deserved: spoiled brats. OK, it’s not over yet, and of course they have their good and lovable sides, and of course you’ll always love your children. Hmm, what was the question again? Oh right: No, I haven’t regretted it. What would the alternative have been? The meaning of life is existence, and since we don’t live forever, existence lives on in our children.
