If there is DRM, a physical copy can still rape your goy anus and you'll own nothing since you're 100% reliant on the company deciding how you can use it. At the same time, there can be digital games and music without any DRM, like on GOG and Bandcamp, that you can write to your format of preference, be it an SD card, an optical disc, or make your own DIY cartridges at home, which you can then use however you desire.
