like the cat that got the proverbial
forgetting cats are lactose intolerant
sometimes the effort is wasted
on a harmful success
although
imagine not knowing
the cream is the cause
of the extreme discomfort
being able to enjoy it
without a foreshadowing
imagine being able to write a poem
about cream and a cat
without the guilt of time stolen
from a poem for the fallen
