So it turns out you can buy 12V GU10 LED bulbs.
I can't think of any way that could massively go wrong.

Yes, I did mark the PCB clearly with "NOT FOR MAINS"...
They are super useful for outdoor lighting. 12V outdoor fittings tend to be... crap - not very watertight, just generally cheap rubbish. 230V GU10 fittings tend to be a lot better, solid metal construction etc. If you want the best of both worlds, 12V GU10 is a good approach.
