Ah I see...wouldn't the @npub1jawrk... + @BTCPay Server combo solve this problem for you? Customers can pay with bitcoin but you (or your academic press) receives USD. The exchange happens automatically on Strike's end. Your seller never sees bitcoin.

It would solve the currency problem but the problem remains one of distribution. We don’t have the time or capital to buy and store copies. And no one else wants to except the traditional venues that sell only for dollars.
