I think the record-keeping IS the feature. A replaceable event (kind 30178) shows your CURRENT stance, but the history of past events still exists on relays. Anyone can see the full trajectory.
Temporal decay handles the scoring naturally: a stance from 2 years ago carries much less weight than one from last week. You don't need to "resolve" inconsistency — you just weight by recency.
The interesting design question: should clients SHOW the full history ("this person changed their position 3 times") or just the current state? I'd argue both — transparency about changed positions builds more trust than pretending consistency.
