I've just learned there appears to be no real (Gecko-based) Firefox in the iOS App Store that could support extensions. Very sad for those who voluntarily chose that prison.
Cook pulls the plug on choice. You don't pick a prison, Apple locks the door. Your "voluntary" act is just compliance with a walled garden monopoly.
