None of the 28 Norwegian men who had married German women in the same period suffered the same fate.
Business owners who had collaborated with the Nazis in Norway, profiting from the occupation were also allowed to keep their nationality.
Suffice it to say the women concerned also suffered from other types of non-judicial abuse after the war ended.
