Matrix is a shit protocol with shit clients that barely works that's a thousandfold more complex than all of nostr combined. Telegram groups can even be read-restricted based on your geographic location. Same probably applies to Whatsapp - no idea. Mailinglists are are either centralized as fuck or your gonna find out that most of your Gmail/Hotmail recipients will never see your mail because they claim it's spam.
I'm really not getting your point here. All platforms you mentioned are easily censored and access-restricted and often require some form of KYC (even if it's just a valid mobile number making you easier to identify).
Maybe nostr just really isn't for you - who am I to judge. But maybe you're just overestimating the complexity of the protocol here.
