I would say "no". It's entirely possible to be respectful of your partner in that regard for the entirety of the relationship.

I have never been unfaithful and never will be. I believe it’s either in you to do it or not. You wanna have an affair then just leave your current partner, there’s no excuse for being unfaithful as far as I am concerned.
