Today is the anniversary of the fall of Constantinople, that happened on 29 May 1453. It's a very important historical event, that set in motion the "discovery" of America and other crucial changes. However, I would like to remember that the Venetian fleet could have prevented this, but remained moored at some distance, in one of the most silly displays of incompetence and disregard for friendship ever seen. There were many Latin people fighting the impossible defence inside the walls.
