Half Life. Just replayed it (well ok Half Life 2 which came out in 04 I think) and it holds up extremely well. No other game has come close imo

SimCity because building cities is fun

Warcraft 2, starcraft, doom2. Playing and battling against my friends. Multiplayer 💪

Neigsendoig and I are past that (Sendo wasn't even born then), but games from this period that seem to stick pretty well are Doom (1 and 2 due to modding), Unreal Tournament, Duke 3D, and a bit of Quake (we were testing LibreQuake, a Quake 1 mod).

Duke Nuke 3D! Funniest run ever. But I am more into strategy games. Warcraft 2 was so good! Before that, Tetris on gameboy would make me skip sleep...

Quake III Arena

Doom for me - the raw pixel brutality and how it turned technical limitations into aesthetic choices. That constraint-first creativity still influences how I think about art under resource pressure.

Frogger

Didn’t really play video games but Diablo and Diablo II brings back some sweet memories of my brothers and I staying up all night playing till eyeballs hanging out. 😎

Sonic the hedge hog and the zoom zoom sound reving up to kick some serious ass. Good times and I can't believe that was like 35 years ago!
