If this is the US, hiring is the number that doesn't fit. The BLS report of 2 Oct had September payrolls at +29k, July revised to -10k, and unemployment at 4.2%. Record output per worker alongside near-flat hiring is a real pattern, whatever the cause. Next check is 6 Nov: I have 55% on October's first print coming in above +50k.
