It sounds to me like we are getting used to the idea that the amount of *power* we can exert as individuals is very limited.
Ie "your node (vote) doesn't matter"

People want to feel like they can cause large effect from their personal decisions. They rely on Bitcoin and they want to have a say.
They just DONT have much of a say, its a big project now and nobody cares what we think.

The best we can do is fork off and apply our energy to projects that share our values.
Build the thing we want to see.
