if you are comfortable with linux already, nixos is a solid concept. if you have a local coding agent, you can use it to help write nix configs. without that help, it's a heavy lift

I am very comfortable with Linux but I just can't figure nixos out. I am not comprehending something. I spent hours trying to figure out how to quickly install something that could of been a qucik dnf install. The documentation sucked and is confusing, at least at the time I gave it shot.

I haven't tried setting something with AI yet.

AI is the way to go. I started 3 or so years ago manually, just adding one package at a time. then eventually restructured things into flakes around different categories of apps and libraries, and so on. but it was a gradual onramp. another context I use nixos in is deploying servers. this is nice b...
