I like what you're saying but I have to disagree with that last point. We should worry about robots. AI and robots/drones are the modern equivalent of 2A. Whoever controls more controls civilization. If the nation state outnumbers civilian drones 10 to 1 it's pure tyranny. Same goes for whoever has more AI compute.
I am uncertain if AGI is possible. That rests on the assumption there is no fundamental limit to machine intelligence which we can not know. But what we do know is you don't need AGI to control a population. Just military robots that will follow orders.
