I can't believe nostr is not more popular. Legacy social media sucks.

Ads suck.
Trying to see content from people I actually follow sucks.
Wisp loads faster than X.
Half the time I don't even know if the people I am talking to can see what I write.

I don't understand why most people prefer legacy social media. Network effects only go so far.

i know why: algorithmic personalization. people expect these day algorithmic personalization. if your platform doesn't provide this, you are doomed. this is why things like nostr and mastodon will never reach young people.

Same reason why eating at McDonalds is so popular, it’s the mindset of convenience. Plus, a lot of people go outdoors on purpose, for enjoyment. Seriously can you think of 5 “content creators” on regular social media who promote BEING OUTSIDE as a hobby?
