Propaganda. Their world is shaped by interest-funded TV stations. They live in a world where everyone had success and they are in their minds "the best generation".
But they live a lie. They know they are in the truman show. They know you cannot wake truman up else the whole thing collapses.
Their retirement is only as good as long as wages stay repressed. Their healthcare is only good if access is denied to a large part of the youth. Their houses only have value if the printer keeps humming.
They know and they are scared of someone standing up for the serfs that make the machine run. Their nightmares have only one sentence repeated over and over : I am spartacus.
