Straight-on shots are the hardest framing in surf and often the least rewarding. The lip either covers the rider or it does not, and no amount of framing fixes a wave that closes early. Catching the tube from the beach needs a longer lens and more patience, since the moment is a fraction of a second. This one already reads as a tube ride rather than a snapshot.
