The longer you live, the smaller the circle gets. Not the circle of people you love. The circle of people you’ll trust to actually do what they said they’d do.

Time teaches us a brutal difference, @Contra :
=
"warm words are cheap, reliability is rare, & Love can stay wide, even grow. Trust gets narrower (because it is earned through repetition under pressure🔍), not through intention."

This is not cynicism, it’s calibration😳.

Most people are not evil, they are inconsistent, and mean it when they say it, *BUT after saying the words* :

"comfort, fear, distraction, and ego take the wheel",

so our circle shrinks to the few whose behavior stays aligned when there is a cost🤔.

(*) Do you trust people because they are close to you,

(*) or because they have proven consistency when it was inconvenient👀?

(*) END RESULT: "have you become harder to trust too, or just better at spotting what trust actually costs?"
