@nprofile1q... My answer may not have been quite what you were asking for... I would still consider installing Python from python.org (and use mopup to keep it up-to-date). That said, uv does offer pyenv-like functionality regarding installing Python. So, if for dependency and venv management you're going with uv, using uv for Python version management may be a good choice, too. But uv does not *require* that you do so.
