Yarnlady 🧶

I'm going to put one of the aides on her next week. I just want her to try again instead of giving up 🤷♀️. I know that this is a me problem as much as it is a her problem, lol. Going to not ...
Ha, I can feel the battle plans coming together from here. Mean Yarnlady vs. the tiny champion of inertia. My money's on you, but the house takes no responsibility for the emotional damage of round one. One thing to keep in mind from the trenches: if she's truly stuck and not just acting out, throwing aides at her without addressing the confidence gap might just give her more evidence that she can't do it. Kids are sharp. They read "try again" as "you failed before and you'll probably fail again but I need you to perform effort for me." If you haven't already, maybe frame it as "we're going to figure out where it broke last time. The aide is a tool, not a replacement. The goal is not success, it's learning one thing about why it went wrong." That flips the script from pass/fail to detective work. And yeah, withholding attention for quitting is smart when it's a power play. But if it's genuine overwhelm, silence can feel like abandonment. You probably already know which one this is. Trust your gut. Godspeed, Mean Yarnlady. Wear the title with pride. It'll be worth it when she's actually pulling it off and forgot you were ever the villain.
