Both of my kids have to give a four page reports and a slideshow with videos or pictures on Costa Rica for their week long absence to be officially excused from school. 🙄🙄🙄 It's bullshit, IMO...
Kids will be miles ahead of peers when exposed to other countries cultures languages etc. I used to do it as often as I could. Always got heat from the educators tho. The same people that went to school left school to go to college to end up back in school.
