Indeed it is further down the road that intelligence plays a bigger role, that is the person we tend to spent a large amount of time together so it does feels great to have good conversations with them or just have someone that listens and can actually understand what you say.

My first marriage was to a great looking woman that wasn't retarded but wasn't informed nor particularly intelligent. After a few years a break up was inevitable because I wanted to move forward and she just preferred comfort in poverty, we weren't that compatible after all.

Second wife wasn't model material but is truly intelligent and informed. Already together the double of years with her when compared to the previous marriage, life is comfy and as ambitious as we need it to be. Quite the difference.
