Heads up on the numbers: NYT has roughly 11 million subscribers and has been adding around 300k per quarter. They never had 17. Subscription revenue runs about 1.7 billion a year, two thirds of the total. The USAID story refers to small government subscription contracts, nothing close to 14 million readers.
