Even if you've only got an entry level Garmin watch like mine - Forerunner55, you can still create a workout on the Garmin App and Bluetooth it to your watch which I thought was cool and didn't know you could do.

Created a strides workout and tried it today, loads better than looking at the watch or manually pressing lap. Set it for 20 second strides with 2 minutes recoveries x5, the watch beeps 3 times and then vibrates to start/stop the intervals while also collecting and separating the data, still managed to mess the data up though on the last recovery by manually stopping the session instead of letting it finish on its own.

Easy aerobic 6 miles, pace increased to 10:57 min/mile but maintained the 136bpm lower aerobic HR, 171spm avg. So the zone 2 stuff must be paying off.

Then some strides, 20 seconds, 2 min recovery x5.
